Using a technique developed by 19th century New England cobblers, master leather
craftsman Steve Comstock makes unique, durable objects from saddle leather. The leather
creations are held together with brass nails.

for examples of his work. Because of natural differences in each hide, every piece is a
unique work of art.
Tack in Time Leather products are constructed of quality saddle leather. The seams are glued and nailed with brass sole nails. These products are new collector's items that should last well over one hundred years.
Tack in Time Leather products are sprayed with a wax spray. If water is allowed to penetrate the spray, it will stain or spot. Clean with a soft, dry cloth. Once a year, treat with Lexol, available at shoe repair shops and on the Internet. If live flowers are put in a leather vase, a glass or plastic insert must be used. Remember, water and leather do not mix. Leather should not be exposed to direct sunlight, or extremes of temperature or humidity.
